I'm Pregnant... With Twins!

Twin Pregnancy Reveal

You may have noticed my absence from my blog recently, well that's because something very special has happened... I'm pregnant and I'm expecting twins! The pregnancy itself wasn't a surprise and the twins were a complete but wonderful shock. My husband and I couldn't be happier to become parents for the first time to two little ones إن شاء الله.

We found out during the last week of Ramadan on the 10th July 2015. A week or so before that I had some weird pulling and stretching sensations in my stomach and some aches and pains in certain areas. I also got more tired easily and would fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I took a test six days before my period was due and got a very, very faint line, so faint I thought I was seeing things. I retook another test two days later and the line was clearer and definitely positive.

I'm planning to document my pregnancy journey to keep as a memory to look back and will be sharing my first-trimester update shortly.

Please keep us in your prayers. ♥

JORD Wooden Watches

Wooden Watch From JORD Watches
Wooden Watch Cora From JORD

For me wood reminds me of autumn and with autumn upon our doorsteps, there's no better time to introduce my new wood watch from JORD. When I initially came across JORD wood watches, my first thought was how can a watch be made from wood? After reading about the concept of wood watches and wearing one of their wood watches for a couple of weeks now, I'm pleased at how beautifully wood watches look and work.  Each watch is hand crafted and very well done so. There's a huge range of watches to chose from ranging from various colours of wood and dial faces. After much debating about which watch to go for, I chose the Cora Watch* in Maple & Silver. The watch strap comes in a maple wood finished with a silver dial which is decorated with swarovski crystal markers. The watch itself is automatic and simply needs to be wound up meaning it needs no battery. It's incredibly lightweight considering it's made of wood but it's very well made. The clasp of the watch is easy to open/close and very secure. The watch comes presented in a beautiful hand-crafted wooden box along with a one year warranty. Overall I'm very happy with the watch and can't wait to get more wear out of it. It's a classic piece which I doubt will come off after my wrist when autumn ends.

Dr Organic Manuka Honey Face Mask

The perfect pamper session for me involves lots of chocolate, Netflix and a face mask. I've flittered between the Neutrogena Visibly 2in1 Face Wash Mask and the Montagne Jeunesse sachet masks but one face mask I've been loving recently is the Dr Organic Manuka Honey Face Mask (£7.49). It's been a staple in my bathroom cabinet for quite some time now, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on it. It's a clay based mask which contains kaolin clay, manuka honey and a bunch of other natural based ingredients. I like to apply a layer of this using an old foundation brush, leave it on for five to ten minutes until it hardens and then I gently remove it with a damp face cloth. After removing it my skin looks glowy and feels a lot smoother with no redness like I've experienced with other face masks. Holland and Barrett are having their penny sale at the moment meaning if you buy one full priced item you can get the second for a penny, making this face mask even more of a bargain.

The Wet Brush Paddle Brush

I've spoken before about my undying love for my Tangle Teezer. Well I may have just found a replacement, cue The Wet Brush Paddle Brush* (£13.99). I admit before using this and just looking at it, I had visions of it barely getting through my very knotty hair but I was pleasantly surprised. I was able to brush my hair with minimal pain. The brushes bristles are very flexible but at the same time strong. The flexible bristles are what makes the brush pain free to use. I use it on wet and dry hair and it doesn't pull my hair and cause any unnecessary damage to my hair. Between The Wet Brush and Tangle Teezer, I have to say that The Wet Brush comes up on top for me due the handle it has and ease of use compared to the latter. I  My only complaint is that it can be a little tricky to clean the brush, especially if you have long hair like mine. I have however discovered that there is a brush cleaner available from Wet Brush which costs around £5 on Amazon. I've yet to try that but it does look like a nifty tool which would effectively remove most of the hair and fluff from the brush.

Drugstore Brow Gels

Brow gels are a fairly new addition to drugstore brands over these past few months. For me good brow products are something that can be tricky to find but so worth the wait when a gem is found. Here's three brow gels I've tried...

The first brow gel I tried was the Catrice Eyebrow Filler Perfecting & Shaping Gel (£7.98). Catrice is a European drugstore make up brand which sadly isn't available in the UK but this brow gel is available from eBay. There's two shades available, the first one is 010 which is the darkest of the two, the second one is 020 which is more of a blonde shade. Hands down this is my favourite of the bunch due to it's longevity, colour (albeit slightly dark) and it's brush.

Another drugstore brow gel is the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara (£4.99). There's an offering of three shades with the lightest being dark blonde, then medium brown and the darkest shade being dark brown. I'd say it's probably the most well known out of the three brow gels. The brush is slightly strange with a bobble end and a thin body. Out of the three it's brush is the most trickiest to use due to my thin brows, however those with fuller brows may find it easier to use. It's shade is a warm brown which isn't too dark nor too deep and for me it's ideal for everyday use.

The cheapest of the bunch is the Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Styling Gel (£3.99). There's a total of three shades to choose from blonde, mid brown and dark brown along with a clear gel. This brow gel has the thickest brush and it's cone shaped. Again another brush which is difficult to use due to the fact my brows aren't exactly the fullest and the brush for me was a little bit too big. The shade I have is mid brown which isn't as warm but more taupey than the other two. Out of the three brow gels this has to be my least favourite due to the brush being difficult to work with and leaving a lot of product on my brows. It's longevity is also a weak point.
